Buck Jones publicist, Martin Sheridan survived the Cocoanut Grove fire that killed the actor and Sheridan's wife, Constance. He became a war correspondent for the Boston Globe, went on a B-29 bombing raid on Tokyo and joined the submarine USS Bullhead on her first Pacific war patrol. After leaving the Bullhead, the submarine was lost with all hands in August 1945. He became a freelance writer and interviewed many famous people; he spoke to Jacqueline Kennedy two days before her husband was assassinated.
Talk about a Jinx.
